Job Title:
Mechanical Assembler Job Description Join our team as a Mechanical Assembler where you will be involved in both Sub Assembly and general assembly processes. You will learn to add metal brackets and use hand and power tools to attach fasteners, clips, and other hardware onto window units. Additionally, you will use caulking guns to fill spaces and learn testing on caulking products to ensure proper window sealing. Attention to detail is crucial as you inspect units for flaws in assembly or final manufacturing. You may also paint materials, work with non-irritant insulation, and wrap the final units with netting. Responsibilities Assemble large window units using hand and power tools. Add metal brackets, fasteners, and clips to window units. Conduct testing on caulking products to ensure proper sealing. Inspect units throughout the assembly process for quality assurance. Paint materials and work with non-irritant insulation. Wrap final units with netting for added protection. Assist in Sub Assembly during production wait times. Retrieve materials from the yard and conduct unit testing. Meet daily and overall production goals. Remain flexible and adaptable to learn different parts of the process. Essential Skills Minimum 3 years in a mechanical role. Proficient in reading blueprints and using power tools. Experience in fabrication, fitting, installation, and inspection. Strong understanding of construction management and quality control. Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, construction, or home improvement is ideal. Proficient with computer skills is a plus. Strong listening skills and a positive, can-do attitude. Flexibility to work in different areas and take on various tasks as needed. The team environment involves working with large pieces of glass, sheet metal, and steel frames. The shift runs from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with potential overtime required during the week and on Saturdays if needed. Be prepared for both indoor and outdoor tasks, with exposure to different weather conditions when handling materials. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chester, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
