Job Description

ABOUT:
AIS Construction Equipment is the oldest Michigan owned and operated heavy equipment company in the state and has been serving customers for over 60 years. We are looking for a full-time experienced Engine Assembler to join our Engines Department at our Grand Rapids branch. This position is Monday
  • Friday, 7am
  • 3:30pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES
: The Engine Assembler will be responsible for the precise assembly of engines used in construction equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Assemble and install engines and engine components according to technical specifications and blueprints
  • Inspect parts for defects and ensure proper fit and alignment during assembly
  • Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
  • Perform functional testing on assembled engines to verify performance and compliance
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues during the build process
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while following all safety protocols
REQUIREMENTS
:
  • 18 years or older with a valid driver's license
  • Vocational or Technical Training or an Associate's Degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in an engine shop
  • Proficiency in machining tools such as mills, lathes, grinders, and honing machines.
  • Strong expertise in internal combustion engines, fuel systems, and related components
  • Skilled in performing detailed measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments
  • Proficient in inspecting, measuring, and interpreting critical engine dynamic specifications
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions
  • Positive attitude with a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
