Position Overview The Mechanical Assembler III will lead the assembly of complex mechanical systems and assemblies for high-precision automation equipment. This role serves as the senior mechanical authority on the shop floor, responsible for build strategy, complex troubleshooting, and providing technical guidance to junior assemblers while collaborating closely with Engineering to improve product design and manufacturability. Key Responsibilities Lead the assembly of complex mechanical systems and assemblies, including build strategy, sequencing, and risk identification. Independently assemble and validate critical mechanical components requiring tight tolerances and precise alignment. Troubleshoot complex and system-level mechanical issues and determine corrective actions. Review mechanical assemblies for accuracy, quality, and functional compliance prior to release or escalation. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior assemblers and support cross-functional problem solving with Engineering. Ensure all safety, quality, and production standards are met and maintained. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational or technical training preferred but not required.
Skills & Requirements:
Extensive experience in mechanical assembly within a manufacturing or automation environment. Advanced ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings, GD&T, assembly instructions, and bills of material. Strong troubleshooting skills for complex mechanical systems, including tolerance stack-ups and alignment issues. Proficiency with precision measuring tools, torque-controlled fastening, and mechanical build best practices. Ability to mentor, guide, and provide technical direction to junior assemblers. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and peers.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods. Ability to safely lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
Compensation and Benefits Pay Range:
$28.00-34.00 (1st Shift) $32.20-39.10 (2nd Shift) Comprehensive benefits package including: Health insurance Life insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off Paid holidays Long-term disability insurance
