In this position, you will inspect returned customer rolls, disassemble components, evaluate wear and damage, perform precision measurements, and help determine the repairs required to return rolls to service. This position combines mechanical disassembly, precision measurement, quality inspection, documentation, and the safe operation of industrial tools and equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receive and inspect industrial rolls returned by customers. Review work orders, technical drawings, and customer specifications. Remove worn nonwoven coverings using approved tools and equipment. Disassemble rolls by removing bearings, housings, and related components. Clean shafts and components prior to inspection. Inspect components for wear, corrosion, damage, and other defects. Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances. Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Compare inspection results to drawing requirements and determine component condition. Identify components requiring repair, replacement, or further evaluation. Accurately document inspection findings and measurements. Assist in determining refurbishment requirements and scope of work. Communicate findings and recommendations to supervisors and production personnel. Help maintain production schedules and customer delivery commitments. Perform basic preventive maintenance on tools and equipment. Safely operate forklifts, power tools, air tools, and materialhandling equipment. Follow all lockout/tagout procedures and safety requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow company policies, quality standards, and operating procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Skills & Abilities Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to work with industrial machinery and mechanical components. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers. Ability to identify wear, damage, and repair needs in mechanical components. Basic shop math skills, including fractions, decimals, and measurement conversions. Basic computer and documentation skills. Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to complete companyprovided training. Preferred Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Experience reading technical drawings and working with dimensional tolerances.
