Mechanical Assembler Job Description This role involves assembling a wide range of steel and aluminum material handling products using established procedures, drawings, and instructions. You will perform repetitive bench and floor operations, use various hand and power tools, and ensure all products meet quality and functional standards. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret blueprints, and the physical capability to work in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Perform a variety of repetitive bench and floor assembly operations to build steel and aluminum material handling products. Follow order sheets, engineering drawings, established procedures, routines, and both written and verbal instructions to complete assemblies accurately. Gather, verify, and organize parts and sub-assemblies prior to starting assembly operations. Locate, align, and install sub-assemblies and component parts such as wheels, brakes, jacks, power supply devices, and lifting platforms. Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to perform assembly, fitting, finishing, and adjustments to achieve high-quality results. Perform routine operational tests to ensure assembled products function properly and meet performance standards. Inform the supervisor of any issues such as missing or defective parts, incomplete order information, or other concerns that could delay on-time shipment. Instruct and assist less knowledgeable or less experienced personnel as needed to support team performance. Maintain equipment in good operating condition by using it properly and reporting any maintenance needs. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working area in accordance with company standards. Observe and comply with all company rules and regulations, including safety requirements, proper use of personal protective equipment, and quality expectations. Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and operational needs. Essential Skills Experience with mechanical assembly in a production or manufacturing environment. Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints. Ability to measure accurately, including using a tape measure. Ability to lift objects weighing up to 70 pounds. Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area. Full mobility with complete use of both arms and legs and the ability to stand for prolonged periods. Good visual ability to inspect parts and assemblies and ensure quality. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with steel and aluminum components. in a clean manufacturing or production environment. Comfort assisting and training less experienced team members. Strong safety awareness and consistent use of personal protective equipment. Work Environment The role is based in a clean manufacturing environment designed to support safe and efficient production. The standard schedule is a first-shift assignment, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The position requires standing for extended periods, frequent lifting of up to 70 pounds, and regular use of hand and power tools. Employees are expected to follow all safety guidelines, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment, and to maintain a clean, organized work area. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Wales, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
