Job Description

Mechanic Responsibilities Perform a variety of repetitive bench and floor operations to assemble steel and aluminum material handling products. Follow order sheets, engineering drawings, established procedures, and both written and verbal instructions to complete assemblies correctly. Gather, verify, and organize parts and sub-assemblies prior to starting assembly operations. Locate, align, and install sub-assemblies and component parts such as wheels, brakes, jacks, power supply devices, and lifting platforms. Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to assemble, fit, and secure components. Perform fitting, finishing, and adjusting operations to achieve high-quality results and ensure proper function of assembled products. Conduct routine operational tests to verify that completed products function properly and meet specifications. Inform the supervisor of issues such as missing or defective parts, incomplete order information, or any other matter that could delay on-time shipment. Instruct and assist less knowledgeable or less experienced personnel as needed to support team productivity and quality. Maintain equipment in good operating condition by using it correctly and reporting any maintenance needs. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area in accordance with company standards. Observe all company rules and regulations, including safety requirements, proper use of personal protective equipment, and quality standards. Perform other duties as assigned to support production and operational needs. Essential Skills Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints to perform accurate assembly work. Mechanical assembly experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Ability to use a tape measure accurately for measuring components and assemblies. Capability to lift objects weighing up to 70 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area. Good visual ability to inspect parts and verify quality. Full mobility with complete use of both arms and legs, including the ability to stand for prolonged periods. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working as a shop helper or in a similar manufacturing support role. General mechanical aptitude and familiarity with mechanical components such as wheels, brakes, jacks, and power supply devices. Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions consistently. Willingness to assist and train less experienced team members. Strong focus on safety, quality, and on-time completion of orders. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role operates in a clean manufacturing environment designed to support safe and efficient production. Work is performed primarily on the first shift, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The position involves standing for extended periods and frequent lifting of up to 70 pounds, using a variety of hand and power tools at both benches and floor-level stations. Employees are expected to follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment, and to maintain a neat, orderly work area in line with company standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Wales, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
