Mechanical Assembler Job Description The Mechanical Assembler builds ECU units and sheet metal cabinets by installing components such as coils, compressors, motors, blowers, and fans. The role involves working from detailed work instructions and mechanical drawings, using basic hand and power tools, and performing precise mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment. The position requires a strong commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork, as well as the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Responsibilities Assemble ECU units and sheet metal cabinets according to established work instructions and mechanical drawings. Install mechanical components including coils, compressors, motors, blowers, fans, and various hardware into the units. Use basic hand and power tools to perform mechanical assembly tasks such as turning wrenches and installing fasteners. Read and interpret measuring devices, including tape measures and calipers, to ensure accurate measurements and proper fit of components. Join sheet metal parts together using pop rivets, rivnuts, and other hardware to build frames and cabinets. Follow detailed written and verbal work instructions, safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance guidelines. Read and understand mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams as needed for assembly tasks. Perform brazing and other related mechanical tasks as required by the assembly process. Inspect work for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications, and correct issues as needed. Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers to clarify instructions, report issues, and support production goals. Work cooperatively as part of an assembly line or team to meet production schedules and quality standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment safely. Demonstrate consistent attendance, punctuality, flexibility, cooperation, and integrity in daily work. Essential Skills Experience in manufacturing assembly, specifically mechanical assembly work. Proficiency with basic hand tools and power tools used in mechanical assembly. Ability to read and use a tape measure and other measuring devices such as calipers. Skill in turning wrenches and installing pop rivets, rivnuts, and various hardware. Ability to read and follow detailed written and verbal work instructions. Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams. Attention to detail and strong commitment to quality of work. Ability to perform basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. High school diploma, GED, or higher level of education.

SHIFT:

The standard shift runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.,There is also voluntary overtime available on Fridays from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., which is expected to remain voluntary. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
