Job Title:
Mechanical Assembler 4 10 hour days M-Thurs 6 am-4:30 pm plus OT Job Description This role focuses on assembling mechanical components and sheet metal cabinets to build ECU units in a manufacturing environment. You will follow detailed written and verbal work instructions, use a variety of hand and power tools, and ensure each unit meets quality and safety standards. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to working cooperatively with supervisors and co-workers. Responsibilities Assemble sheet metal cabinets and frames by joining components with pop rivets, rivnuts, and various hardware. Install coils, compressors, motors, blowers, fans, and other components into ECU units according to work instructions and mechanical drawings. Use basic hand and power tools, including wrenches, to perform mechanical assembly tasks safely and efficiently. Read and interpret measuring devices such as tape measures and calipers to ensure accurate cuts, alignments, and fits. Follow detailed written and verbal work instructions, schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings to complete a wide variety of units. Support assembly line operations by performing repetitive and varied mechanical assembly tasks as needed. Handle basic wiring and brazing tasks as required by specific assemblies, following safety and quality standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment properly. Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers to clarify instructions, report issues, and support continuous workflow. Demonstrate consistent attendance, punctuality, flexibility, cooperation, and integrity in daily work. Adhere to all safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions while performing job duties. Document work as required, including routine reports or basic correspondence related to assembly activities. Essential Skills Experience in manufacturing assembly, including mechanical assembly work. Ability to read and use a tape measure and other measuring devices such as calipers. Proficiency with basic hand and power tools, including wrenches and other common tools used in industrial assembly. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and detailed work instructions. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to assemble sheet metal components and frames. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as needed. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and stakeholders. Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. High school diploma, GED, or higher level of education. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
