Job Description

Machine Assembler Job description Parkinson Technologies Inc., a leading designer, and manufacturer of large-scale winding, web-handling, and plastics processing equipment, has an immediate opening for Mechanical Assemblers within our assembly department.
Qualifications:
Must have Auto/Truck Mechanic experience. Minimum of 3 years experience assembling large machinery. Read and interpret assembly blueprints or specifications manuals and plan assembly or building operations. Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, or conformance to customer specifications. Position or align components for assembly manually or using hoists. Set and verify parts clearances. Verify conformance of parts to stock lists or blueprints using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, or micrometers. Fasten or install piping, fixtures, wiring, and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies using hand tools, rivet guns, or welding equipment. Remove rough spots and smooth surfaces to fit, trim, or clean parts using hand or power tools. Layout, drill, ream, tap, or cut parts for assembly. Rework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assemblies. Assemble systems of gears by aligning and meshing gears in gearboxes. Set up and operate metalworking machines, such as milling or grinding, to shape or fabricate parts. Maintain and lubricate parts or components.
Additional Considerations:
Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics. Assembly techniques focusing on the following: Pneumatics, laser alignment, Bills of Material, CAD file reading, rigging, and other assembly-related tasks. Must be a self-motivated team player and have a strong work ethic. The ability to work independently. Must have some personal hand tools such as sockets and wrenches. Willing to work overtime, including some Saturdays when requested. Hydraulics experience is a plus. Hoist, crane, and lift truck experience is a plus.
