Mechanical Assembler-$17/hr First Shift + OT Job Description This role involves assembling mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment, using hand and power tools to build mail automation systems. You will work on a full-time, first-shift schedule and contribute to a growing operation that offers contract-to-hire opportunities and clear paths for career development. Responsibilities Read and interpret assembly drawings and blueprints to accurately assemble equipment. Assemble and build mail automation equipment according to specifications and quality standards. Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to assemble mechanical components and subassemblies. Recognize and correctly use mechanical parts such as pulleys, bearings, springs, and gears during assembly. Identify and select appropriate hardware including screws, bolts, nuts, washers, and snap rings. Work independently on assigned tasks, managing time and priorities to meet production goals. Collaborate within a team environment to complete larger assembly projects and support production needs. Lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly and stand throughout the shift while performing assembly tasks. Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Support overtime and occasional weekend work as needed to meet production demands. Essential Skills At least 1 year of mechanical assembly experience in an electronic or mechanical manufacturing environment. Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and blueprints. Ability to recognize mechanical parts such as pulleys, bearings, springs, and gears. Ability to identify and work with hardware including screws, bolts, nuts, washers, and snap rings. Experience using hand tools for mechanical assembly tasks. Experience using power tools in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Capability to lift 40 pounds throughout the day and stand for the duration of the shift. Dependable, organized, and mechanically inclined work style. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team-focused environment. Willingness to support overtime and occasional weekend work when required. Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screenings.
