Assembler (Industrial / Construction Experience Preferred) Job Description Join a growing manufacturing team as an Assembler, where you will build high-quality products in a fast-paced, team-oriented prefabrication environment. This role is ideal for individuals with industrial manufacturing, construction, mechanical assembly, carpentry, electrical, or other hands-on trade experience who enjoy working with tools, reading measurements, and following blueprints. Training is available for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, good dexterity, and a solid work ethic who are eager to learn and grow. Responsibilities Perform mechanical assembly tasks to build prefabricated products according to specifications and quality standards. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to cut, fasten, and assemble components. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and tape measure measurements to ensure accurate assembly. Handle general labor duties such as material handling, positioning, and staging components for assembly. Assist with construction-related tasks within the manufacturing environment, including work with concrete and carpentry as needed. Follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures to maintain consistency and quality. Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and maintain a positive, team-oriented environment. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines and housekeeping standards. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and comply with all safety policies. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support minimum weekly hour requirements and production schedules. Essential Skills Hands-on experience in industrial manufacturing, construction, mechanical assembly, carpentry, electrical work, or general labor in a similar environment. Proficient use of hand tools and power tools in a safe and controlled manner. Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately and follow blueprints or basic drawings. Good manual dexterity and strong mechanical aptitude for assembling and handling components. Dependable work ethic with solid attendance and reliability. Comfort working in a physically demanding, industrial setting for extended hours each week. Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and maintain focus on quality and safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in prefabrication manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments. Experience in mechanical assembly, concrete work, carpentry, or laborer helper roles. Willingness to learn new skills and move into more advanced, skilled positions over time. Strong attention to detail when reading measurements, blueprints, and work instructions. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a prefabrication manufacturing facility that is not climate-controlled, so temperatures vary with the seasons; heat is provided during colder months, but there is no air conditioning. Employees work a minimum of 48 hours per week on a set schedule: Monday through Thursday from 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday from 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The environment is industrial and hands-on, requiring consistent use of personal protective equipment, including steel-toed boots, a hard hat, safety vest, and safety glasses. Workers provide their own steel-toed boots, while all other required PPE is supplied on the first day of orientation. Dress and equipment must be suitable for an active manufacturing floor where safety, durability, and readiness for physical work are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ruther Glen, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
