Job Description
The Motor Assembler is responsible for assembling a variety of electric motors and electro-mechanical devices with precision and care.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Assemble subassemblies and individual parts to complete electric motor units. Install field windings and brush holders into motor housings using appropriate hand tools and fixtures. Operate arbor press to insert bushings and bearings into motor heads with accuracy. Attach fans and gears to the armature shaft using appropriate hardware such as nuts and lock washers. Position the armature shaft into bearings, ensuring proper alignment and movement. Connect electrical leads to brushes and switch cord assemblies using soldering equipment or screws. Assemble end brackets and motor bases to housings and fasten using appropriate fasteners. Lubricate gears and other moving components to ensure smooth operation. Manually rotate shafts to verify proper assembly and freedom of movement. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; technical school training or manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions, including load, assembly, and packing specifications. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety. Positive attitude, reliability, and a solid work ethic are essential. Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand and power tools. Forklift experience is a plus. Physical ability to regularly lift and move items up to 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
