Job Title:
Etcher Job Description Join a 100% employee-owned manufacturing company where precision meets purpose. As an Etcher, you will perform chemical etching processes on metal components used in medical, aerospace, and electronics applications. You will work hands-on with etching equipment, follow detailed process instructions, and help ensure every part meets exacting customer specifications while contributing to a collaborative, quality-focused production team. Responsibilities Operate chemical etching tanks and related equipment to process metal materials according to customer specifications and internal standards. Follow job travelers, work instructions, and any special requirements for each work order with a high level of accuracy. Measure product conformance using calipers, gauges, rulers, and other inspection tools to verify dimensions and quality. Record all measurements, inspection results, and production data clearly, accurately, and legibly on required documentation and systems. Notify the production lead or appropriate team member of any quality concerns, nonconforming product, or questionable materials. Monitor chemical solution conditions, including levels and basic parameters, and perform minor maintenance or adjustments as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation, following all safety protocols and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Complete daily production tasks independently, manage time effectively, and stay on schedule to meet production commitments. Work as part of a production team to achieve daily and weekly output goals while maintaining high quality standards. Use basic hand tools and equipment safely and correctly as part of the etching and inspection processes. Support continuous improvement by following established procedures and providing feedback on process or quality issues when appropriate. Essential Skills Ability to read and follow basic job instructions, job travelers, and written procedures. Ability to use measurement tools such as calipers, gauges, and rulers to verify product dimensions. Basic math skills to perform measurements, counts, and simple calculations. Mechanical inclination and comfort working with machines, tools, and production equipment. Strong attention to detail with a focus on product quality and accuracy. Ability to write clearly with legible penmanship for recording measurements and production data. Ability to retain process knowledge and apply it consistently across different work orders. Ability to multitask and manage multiple work orders or steps in the process as needed. Effective time management skills to complete tasks on schedule with minimal supervision. Dependability and reliability in attendance, task completion, and adherence to procedures. Comfort working around chemicals and willingness to wear required PPE. Positive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing, production, or chemical processing role preferred but not required. Familiarity with machine operation, assembly, or warehouse environments is helpful. Experience using hand tools in a work or hobby setting is a plus. Demonstrated thoroughness in completing tasks and documenting work accurately. Willingness to learn new processes, equipment, and quality standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.90 - $18.90/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
