Summary The Custom Assembler II is responsible for completing medium size/scale custom woodworking and laminating projects and similar projects. The ideal candidate is experienced, reliable, and capable of working independently while supporting team success. Key Responsibilities Responsible for completing high quality medium size/scale custom woodworking and laminating projects by interpreting project requirements from blueprints, work orders and CAD drawings. Complete simple program changes on CNC machines as directed by CNC controller to include changing out tooling and calibrating machines. When questions/issues arise within assigned projects, work with more experienced assemblers and/or management on resolution. Perform routine, ongoing operator maintenance of machines and equipment. Proactively troubleshoot larger mechanical issues and bring them to the attention of management for repair. Record and dispose of scrap. Responsible for daily 5S housekeeping and maintaining a clean work area. Assist other areas within Wood Fabrication as required by the business. May be asked to assist in other areas of Skyline production as required by the business
Core Competencies Mechanical Proficiency:
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with basic hand and power tools.
Technical Interpretation:
Ability to read and understand blueprints and CAD drawings.
Problem-Solving:
Strong troubleshooting ability and sound decision-making.
Flexibility & Adaptability:
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving production environment.
Team Collaboration:
Works well independently and as part of a team, supporting overall production objectives.
Computer & Math Skills:
Competent with basic computer use, measurement, counting, and math. Minimum Qualification High school diploma or GED equivalent 1-3 years of experience in a production or light assembly environment, or equivalent. Proficiency in a minimum of three production work cells. Experience working with basic hand and power tools (riveter, screw gun, drill, crimper, wire cutter, utility knife, etc.). Strong desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated willingness to learn, contribute, and work hard. Equipment and Tools used Basic hand tools (riveter, screw gun, drills, tape measure, etc.) Standard safety equipment (safety glasses, safety shoes) Physical Requirements Standing approximately 95% of the time. Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
