Position Overview:
As a Machine Tech 1 at Montana Knife Company, you will play a crucial role in manufacturing individual components for our assembly team. You will interact daily with CNC Mills, Lathes and 3D Printers. This is an entry level position; all relevant training will be provided. Currently this position will operate on two shifts. Day shift is 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Swing shift is 3 pm - 11 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate CNC mills and robotic systems to produce in tolerance production parts Measure accurately using Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges and Gauge Pins Load and touch off tools Load programs, and verify the correct tools are in machine prior to running Able to recognize a worn or broken tool, replace it and continue the program Maintain coolant concentration and level Prioritize productive machine up time and troubleshoot minor production issues Perform quality control checks on finished parts in the production process Empty filter system bins and replace filter media Troubleshoot clogged coolant filters Loading and unloading production handles, cleaning, oiling, inspecting for quality and bagging them for delivery to the assembly department Quality checking parts on a CMM Keeping the mill area clean and organized Communicating needs and issues in a timely manner Read and understand shop floor prints Fill filament and restart 3D prints if issues occur Run parts on the prototype mill that have been programmed, setup and verified Staying clean, respectful and organized
Required Qualifications :
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication, organization and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Fusion by Autodesk Prior CNC operator experience
