Model Builder II - Scale Model Manufacturing Tyler Gray Models - Aumsville, Oregon Part-Time to Full-Time | 24-40 Hours Per Week $21.00-$28.00 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated skills In-Person | Daytime Hours About Tyler Gray Models Tyler Gray Models (TGM) is a small manufacturing and e-commerce business specializing in scale model helicopters, aircraft components, 3D-printed and CNC-machined parts, and specialty model work. We are looking for a skilled, hands-on Model Builder II to join our shop. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys building, modifying, fabricating, assembling, and finishing detailed physical products . The ideal candidate will have experience building models, miniatures, scale vehicles, aircraft, ships, architectural models, props, or other detailed projects , or have comparable hands-on fabrication experience. Previous RC helicopter experience is not required. We're looking for someone who understands the patience, precision, attention to detail, and problem-solving required to turn individual components into a finished product. What You May Be Building Projects at TGM can vary, but may include: Building and assembling large-scale model helicopters Installing mechanical and electrical components Fitting and modifying components for proper alignment and fit Preparing and finishing 3D-printed and CNC-machined parts Installing servos, linkages, wiring, lights, and other components Working with detailed mechanical assemblies Completing model finishing, detailing, and final assembly Building components or subassemblies for larger projects Troubleshooting problems and determining how to make a component or assembly work properly Some projects will follow established instructions and processes. Others will require you to look at a problem, figure out a solution, and determine the best way to complete the work. What You'll Do Depending on your experience and skill level, your responsibilities may include: Build and assemble detailed scale models and components Fit, trim, sand, drill, modify, and finish parts Work with 3D-printed and CNC-machined components Prepare components for assembly and finishing Work from drawings, instructions, measurements, and existing examples Use hand tools and power tools safely and accurately Perform detailed assembly and finishing work Assist with wiring, soldering, and electrical installation Operate and work with 3D printing equipment Assist with CNC machining and manufacturing Inspect completed work for quality, fit, and finish Troubleshoot problems and determine practical solutions Help improve manufacturing and assembly processes Keep work areas organized and production moving efficiently Take ownership of assigned projects and see them through to completion What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who already knows how to work with their hands and enjoys building detailed things.

Relevant experience may include:

Scale model building Miniature fabrication Model ships, aircraft, vehicles, or trains Architectural models Props and display fabrication Automotive or motorcycle work Aerospace CNC machining 3D printing and prototyping Woodworking or cabinetmaking Welding or fabrication Electronics and wiring Robotics Fiberglass or composites Product assembly Technical trades Advanced hobby projects You don't need experience in every one of these areas. We're looking for someone with a strong foundation who can apply their existing skills to our products and processes. Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated experience building, fabricating, assembling, repairing, or modifying physical products Experience with model building or other detailed hands-on projects is strongly preferred Comfortable using hand and power tools Good mechanical aptitude Strong attention to detail Able to work from instructions, drawings, measurements, or examples Able to troubleshoot and solve problems Able to work independently once a project or process is understood Comfortable working with small and detailed components Takes pride in quality workmanship Reliable and punctual Good organizational skills Able to communicate clearly and work as part of a small team Able to stand and work for extended periods Able to lift and carry at least 30 lbs Must be 18 years or older Must be able to pass a background check Helpful Skills The following are a plus, but are not required:

CAD CAM CNC
