We are on growth journey - now looking for our next star - a passionate Sewer to join our team at the Manchester Centre in the USA, reporting into our product family leader. Purpose of Position To manufacture bedding, sheets, shower curtains, pillows, bed throws, towels blinds, Curtains and other soft furnishings as requested to the highest quality standards. Main responsibilities Manufacture Dometic products to a high standard in a timely manner Read and interpret order, drawings, and patterns to position, fold, and match fabric pieces accurately Train with current team to complete training on details of each product to achieve high quality items Set up and run industrial sewing machines and carry out routine maintenance. Prepare, sew, and press finished items for packaging, using sewing machines, irons and all other equipment provided by following standard or bespoke manufacturing process methods and instructions Ensure that products are made to the highest quality at all times by continual attention to detail and visual inspection to find inconsistencies in fabric or stitching Ensure all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are followed at all times and take personal responsibility for your own health and safety and that of co-workers. To follow all company policies and procedures, laws and guidelines Undertake other tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Manager or Directors of Dometic US Blind Systems Ltd Preferred experience Previous experience as a sewing machinist or similar Worked within manufacturing sector within a factory environment Previous use of Industrial machines Ability to use a tape measure and rulers Understanding of fabric behaviours A keen eye for detail A qualification relating to textiles or equivalent Required experience Teamwork Adaptability Understand and follow paperwork Use tape measures and rulers Basic math skills Manual dexterity with strong hand-eye coordination Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift/maneuver 35 lb fabric rolls with or without assistance Why work for us? Pay:
$17.00 - $18.50 per hour
