SUMMARY OF POSITION
Under the direction of the Plant Supervisor, the Laser Setup /Operator operates the laser to perform a variety of standardized work where procedures are prescribed to produce parts in conformance with specification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Setup, adjust and operate computer-controlled laser cutting machine Mount, install, align and secure tools, attachments, fixtures and work pieces on machines Setup and adjust gauges to properly position parts during equipment operation Work from drawings, specifications, patterns or templates in any combination of metric or decimal dimensions to hold tolerances Quality inspection using a variety of precision measuring instruments Use scale, protractor, fixed angle and radii gauges
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required. Highly motivated self-starter Prior experience with Trumpf TruLaser 3530 and Trumpf Trumatic 600L preferred Requires 6 months of relevant manufacturing experience Strong reading, writing and math skills Regular attendance is required; punctual, dependable Strong attention to detail Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form Interpersonal skills & friendly attitude
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required talk or hear and may occasionally sit; regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
