Full Job Description Job Description:

The Gelcoat Finisher is responsible for repairing, sanding, polishing, and finishing fiberglass and gelcoat surfaces on boats to ensure a high-quality appearance and finish. This position involves inspecting surfaces for imperfections, performing cosmetic repairs, color matching, buffing, and ensuring all work meets company quality standards. The Gelcoat Finisher works closely with production and quality teams to complete boats safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Repair gelcoat imperfections, scratches, cracks, chips, and surface defects. Sand, buff, polish, and finish fiberglass and gelcoat surfaces to achieve high-quality results. Perform color matching and blending of gelcoat repairs. Inspect completed work to ensure quality and consistency. Use sanding, polishing, spraying, and finishing tools and equipment safely and effectively. Follow production schedules and quality control procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Comply with all safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist with final cosmetic touch-ups and detailing as needed.

Requirements:

Experience with gelcoat repair, fiberglass finishing, sanding, buffing, and polishing preferred. Knowledge of fiberglass materials, finishing techniques, and repair procedures. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, buffers, sanders, and spray equipment. Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship. Ability to identify surface imperfections and perform accurate repairs. Preferred 2-5 years of experience in boat manufacturing, fiberglass repair, automotive bodywork, or a similar finishing environment. Ability to work in confined spaces and in conditions that may include dust, fumes, noise, and variable temperatures. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods. Ability to lift and handle materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
