Job Description

The Polishing Operator is responsible for preparing and finishing chrome-plated and metal surfaces using belt sander machines and related polishing equipment. This role ensures all chrome parts and components meet the highest standards for surface quality, reflectivity, and cosmetic appearance prior to final inspection, plating, or assembly. The ideal candidate is skilled in the safe and efficient operation of belt sander machines and consistently delivers a flawless, production-ready chrome finish.
Responsibilities:
Operate belt sander machines as the primary production equipment to sand chrome-plated and metal surfaces to specification. Set up belt sander machines including selecting correct belt grit, adjusting tracking and tension, and setting appropriate speed and feed rate for each job. Apply progressively finer abrasive belts through multiple sanding stages. Monitor belt machine performance; change abrasive belts as needed using correct grit sequences, and report tracking drift or equipment malfunctions promptly. Perform surface preparation for downstream chrome plating operations. Follow work orders & procedures, customer specifications, and finish standards to meet tolerances and cosmetic requirements. Identify and segregate defective or non-conforming material; complete rework documentation as required. Work as a team to meet daily production schedules and understand daily production limits. Must keep work area clean and neat along with completion of filling out daily paperwork.
W ork experience requirements:
No previous experience required; we will train. Must be able to follow directions, have good attendance and reliability, be a team player. Must be able to stand for extended period and lift up to 50 lbs. There is repetitive hand and arm motion.
Education requirements:
High School or GED preferred.
