Job Description
Job descriptionWe are a custom, high end wood shop that manufactures custom doors and products for some of America's elite companies and residential clientele. We are seeking self-motivated, detail oriented, professionally minded finisher to our team. This position will work in the stain/paint department hand staining, sanding, spraying stain, sealer, lacquer and latex paint in a production finish booth. Wage is negotiable depending upon experience.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBrush, spray, or hand-rub finishing ingredients, such as paint, oil, stain, or wax, onto and into wood grain; apply lacquer or other sealersFill and smooth cracks or depressions, remove marks and imperfections, and repair broken partsMix finish ingredients to obtain desired colors or shades.
Select appropriate finishing ingredients such as paint, stain, lacquer, shellac, or varnish, depending on factors such as wood hardness and surface type.
Smooth, shape, and touch-up surfaces to prepare them for finishing, using sandpaper, pumice stones, steel wool, chisels, sanders, or grinders.
Prepare color/finish samples for customer approval.
ExperienceMust have prior woodwork/painting/staining/finish experienceMust be knowledgeable in paint and spray equipmentMust be knowledgeable of paint formulas and reactions.
Must have a keen eye for detailOther skillsPositive professional attitudeAbility to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to read and interpret documents and drawingsGeneral woodworking and carpentry experience a plus.
Good communication abilitiesRequired to operate shop machinery when needed (table saw, sanders, routers, planers, jointers, etc..) will train.
Must be able to lift, push and or pull up to 50lbs.
Must have basic computer knowledge
