Job Description

  • Job Title: Grinding and Polishing Laborer - 1st or 2nd Shift
  • Pay: $25-30/hr
  • Per Diem: $170/day worked -can typically work 6 days
  • Travel-in job: New Lisbon or Elroy, WI
  • Must have own car and responsible for booking own lodging. Per diem is a non-taxable income paid out each week to cover lodging & meals.

  • We are seeking a skilled Grinding and Polishing Laborer to perform various tasks necessary for metal finishing component parts, transportation tanks, and bottles during the production process.

This role involves examining surface areas and welds to detect defects and requires working within confined spaces for periods of up to four hours. The position demands constant attention to shop activities to ensure safety.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Inspect equipment prior to beginning work to ensure it is in safe operating condition and that required preventative maintenance checks are completed.

+ Examine all surface areas and welds to detect defects.

+ Set up, adjust, and operate equipment safely, efficiently, and accurately to produce required parts.

+ Flap and blend weld burns on the exterior and interior of tanks using electrical and pneumatic shop tools.

+ Buff outside heads and grind manhole covers and outlet pods using electrical and pneumatic shop tools.

+ Grind welds, deburr rough metal, and produce various finishes on metal.

+ Stone grind, peen, belt, flap, and blend seams on the inside of the bottle using pneumatic shop tools.

+ Work with pneumatic tools and identify and match consumables with the equipment.

+ Use equipment in kneeling and bending positions while ensuring safety with provided PPE.

  • Essential Skills
  • + Proficiency in grinding and polishing with at least 2 years of experience. + Ability to use hand and power tools, including pneumatic tools. + Knowledge of blueprint reading. + Experience in production and assembly processes.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Experience working with dairy and pharmaceutical grade steel.

  • Work Environment
  • This position operates on the 1st shift, with 53 hours per week, from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The worksite is located in New Lisbon, Wisconsin, and provides a collaborative environment with a focus on safety and efficiency.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $25.

00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
