  • Full-time Van-Am Tool & Engineering is seeking a Powder Coat Technician to join our production team in St.
Joseph, Missouri. This position is responsible for preparing, coating, inspecting, and finishing metal parts used in precision manufacturing. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality work, enjoys hands-on manufacturing tasks, and thrives in a fast-paced team environment. This position offers a 4-Day Workweek with a schedule of Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts , providing employees with a three-day weekend every week. What You'll Do Prepare metal parts for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, masking, and performing surface preparation activities. Apply powder coat finishes using spray equipment and established work instructions. Set up and operate powder coating equipment, ovens, and related machinery. Inspect finished products for appearance, coverage, color consistency, and quality requirements. Rack, hang, package, and move parts throughout the production process. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment. Maintain accurate production records and documentation. Follow all safety, quality, and environmental requirements. Support team goals and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous powder coating, industrial painting, or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills for production tracking and data entry. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet throughout the shift. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with metal fabrication products. Ability to read manufacturing prints or blueprints. Forklift or overhead crane experience (training available). Why Join Van-Am? $19.00
