2nd Shift Teflon Coater McElroy Manufacturing, Inc - 1.0 Tulsa, OK Job Details $20 - $35 an hour 13 hours ago Qualifications Parts drawings Safety equipment Abrasive blasting Spray guns (painting, coating and spraying tool) Respirator Full Job Description McElroy is currently seeking a Teflon Coater . A successful McElroy coater prepares parts for coating by cleaning, masking, and surface‑prepping components, then applies specialized Teflon and fluoropolymer coatings according to required specifications. They must be able to process parts using multi‑step coating procedures, operate curing ovens, monitor bake‑out cycles, and inspect finished parts to ensure all quality standards are met. The successful Teflon coater will have experience with spray‑applied industrial coatings, including fluoropolymer or PTFE‑based materials, and a working knowledge of surface preparation methods such as grit blasting. Our coaters must also be able to interpret all prints, sketches, and verbal descriptions to ensure coatings are applied to specification.
Schedule:
2nd Shift Monday - Thursday 4:30pm - 3am. 2nd shift also receives 11.5% shift premium on all hours worked. General Job Requirements 2+ years of experience in industrial coating , preferably with Teflon, fluoropolymer, or high‑performance coatings. Must be able to pass a pulmonary test on an annual basis. Must be able to wear a respirator during periods of coating, blasting, or surface preparation.

This position is safety-sensitive because, in addition to the essential functions, it also involves performing one or more of the following essential tasks or duties: The handling, packaging, processing, storage, disposal or transport of hazardous material The operation of a motor vehicle, other vehicle, equipment, machinery or power tools Repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage The operation, maintenance or oversight of critical services and infrastructure including, but not limited to, electric, gas, and water utilities, power generation or distribution. The extraction, compression, processing, manufacturing, handling, packaging, storage, disposal, treatment or transport of potentially volatile, flammable, combustible materials, elements, chemicals or any other highly regulated component. Generally, 95% of the normal work shift requires standing, bending, squatting, and climbing while running production, inspecting work and machines and checking procedures. Job requires moving of material and parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifting devices should be used when possible. Parts must be lifted, pulled, pushed, and held in place, sometimes without benefit of material handling devices due to limited space and confined areas in and around machines.
