Job Overview:
The Industrial Blasting Technician is responsible for performing abrasive blasting operations to prepare surfaces for rubber lining applications in an industrial setting. This role involves safely and efficiently removing rust, scale, coatings, and contaminants from metal surfaces to meet required specifications. The position is based in New Castle, PA, and supports production operations through proper surface preparation, equipment handling, and adherence to quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and experienced with abrasive blasting techniques. This role requires the ability to work in a physically demanding environment while following all safety, environmental, and operational procedures to ensure high-quality rubber lining outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Prepare steel surfaces for abrasive blasting in accordance with job specifications Read and interpret drawings, work orders, and process instructions Prepare surfaces for sand blasting including masking, covering, and protect surfaces as required Operate blasting equipment in compliance with all safety and operational requirements Perform material handling, including moving and arranging parts for processing Identify minor issues and carry out routine maintenance to keep blasting equipment running efficiently Use hand and shop tools as required for job tasks Support coworkers in their day-to-day responsibilities when not blasting
Desired Qualifications:
Abrasive blasting experience preferred Experience using power tools is required Must work well in a team environment, as well as independently Must be professional and have a good work ethic Possess good problem-solving skills Forklift experience preferred, but not required Ability to meet or exceed the Company's attendance and punctuality standards Reliable transportation is required Must be able to pass a respirator fit test
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift, and haul up to 100 lbs. Ability to work in confined spaces Bending, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontally, climbing, standing for prolonged periods, and walking as job requires Ability to work with personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, blast suits, gloves, eye protection, and steel-toe footwear Ability to climb ladders and work at various heights.

Varying indoor and outdoor work environments Noise level, which may at times require hearing protection Heights Exposure to chemicals and solvents
