On-Site Job Description A stable, well-established Houston-area manufacturing company is seeking a Plate Roller to join the team. This is a hands-on fabrication role supporting quality production in a shop environment. The Plate Roller is responsible for forming steel materials to required specifications by operating rolling equipment, supporting fabrication processes, and ensuring products meet quality standards and are properly prepared for welding through accurate measurements, forming, and finishing. Responsibilities:
Perform daily equipment checks to ensure safe operation and basic maintenance. Review work orders, specifications, and read blueprints/drawings. Operate rolling equipment to form materials to required radius and shape. Verify product accuracy throughout the process, including angles, dimensions, and tolerances. Adjust material as needed to achieve proper form and specifications. Grind and prepare surfaces, including smoothing and beveling edges. Perform tack welding as required to secure formed materials. Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and lift equipment. Move materials and finished products within the work area. Use basic math and measurement tools to ensure accuracy. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times. Support quality standards and company initiatives. Work overtime or alternate shifts as needed. Utilize basic computer systems as required. Attend meetings and participate in team communication. Demonstrate reliability and punctuality. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Experience operating plate rolling equipment and related machinery in a fabrication or manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings Experience using material handling equipment including cranes and forklifts Proficiency with hand tools, grinders, and welding equipment Experience handling materials using chains, hooks, and clamps Ability to use basic math and measurement tools to verify angles, dimensions, and tolerances Ability to perform tasks requiring standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift; climb stairs and ladders and access elevated work areas as needed Due to the high volume of applications we typically receive, we regret that we are not able to personally respond to all applications.
