Here at Mission Cleaning a laundry presser is responsible for removing wrinkles and shaping garments, linens, and other textiles using industrial pressing equipment or hand irons to achieve a crisp, professional finish.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate Pressing Equipment:

Use industrial steam, hydraulic, or pneumatic presses (such as utility presses, shirt bucks, or pants toppers) to smooth and shape various clothing items like shirts, pants, coats, and gowns.

Quality Inspection:

Examine garments for stains, damage, or remaining wrinkles before and after pressing to ensure they meet company quality standards.

Specialized Fabric Care:

Identify different fabric types (e.g., silk, wool, velvet) and adjust machine temperature or pressure settings to prevent damage or fabric burning.

Finishing & Packaging:

Hang, fold, and tag finished items correctly; use hand irons for delicate "touch-up" work that machines cannot reach.

Equipment Maintenance:

Clean and lubricate pressing machines regularly and report any technical malfunctions to management.

Sorting & Preparation:

Help sort laundry by color or material and moisten fabrics with water or steam to prepare them for easier pressing.
