The Melt Pourer will pour metal into molds and maintain a metal flow rate to ensure casting quality and avoid excess spillage of metal.
What You'll Do:
Transport molten metal in a ladle from the Melt Department to the Pouring area by fork truck. Pour molten metal from ladle to molds in various locations. Inform melter of the amount of iron needed. Secure the correct amount of molten metal from the receiving ladle and transport it to the pouring location. Lift ladle by air hoist or fork truck and pour the iron. Receive instructions as to pouring temperatures, alloy additions, what to pour, etc. Use care to pour at proper rate and temperature. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition acceptable to safety standards. Must inform operator or supervisor of any unfavorable pouring conditions such as run-outs, sequence numbers, part numbers, any boiling of iron in vents or interrupted or short pours. Must also be trained in furnace and ladle repair. Perform any and all other job-related tasks, as assigned. Why You'll Love Working for

High school diploma or GED preferred Required Previous Experience
  • Melter, Melt Pourer, Melt Furnace or Furnace Operator Ability to Stand

  • occasional.
Ability to Lift/push and pull is required. Working conditions include heat, smoke, and dust. Must wear PPE.
