Cafeteria Specialist

Cafeteria Specialist works under moderate supervision to prepare and serve food, maintain sanitation, and operate kitchen equipment. Primary duties include cooking, managing inventory, promoting a positive environment, and adhering to strict food safety standards. Key Responsibilities and Duties Food Preparation/Service:

Prep and serve high-quality, nutritious food in appropriate quantities.

Sanitation:

Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and health standards for food storage, preparation, and serving areas.

Equipment Operation:

Utilize standard, large, and small commercial kitchen equipment (e.g., electric slicer, mixer, steamer, dishwasher).

Inventory & Records:

Maintain accurate daily food preparation records, inventory, and inventory food requisitions.

Customer Service:

Maintain positive interaction with students, staff, and parents.

Teamwork:

Collaborate with other staff members and follow instructions from the Cafeteria Manager.

Qualifications Education:

High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.

Experience:

Previous food service experience is typically desired, though not always required.

Mental/Physical Demands Physical:

Continual standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and kneeling.

Environmental:
