The DeLong Co. is looking for a driven Sales Agronomist to join our team — someone who combines sharp agronomic knowledge with a genuine passion for helping growers improve their operations and profitability.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Sales Agronomist, you'll be the face of The DeLong Co. for your grower customers — building trusted relationships, understanding their unique needs, and delivering solutions that work. Day to day, you will: Grow and manage a book of business across fertilizer, chemical, application services, and seed products — while actively prospecting new grower relationships Scout fields, collect as-applied and yield data, and develop tailored hybrid placement and variable rate seeding recommendations Prepare and manage sales proposals, bookings, invoices, and contracts efficiently using Agvance, Connex, and other platforms Maintain detailed, up-to-date field and farm maps to support both growers and internal teams Coordinate product deliveries and application scheduling for your customer base Serve as a trusted resource for growers — addressing questions, resolving concerns quickly, and keeping them informed Collaborate with the Agronomy and Seed Division Managers to set and achieve annual sales goals Requirements
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required:
Strong agricultural and seed product knowledge Excellent communication skills — comfortable in person, on the phone, by text, and email Willingness to put in extra hours during peak seasons High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance Ability (or willingness) to obtain a Class A CDL and Commercial Applicator's License within 6 months of hire Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varied outdoor conditions
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or a related field Prior sales or agronomic consulting experience Proficiency in Excel, Word, and ag-specific platforms
