We serve homeowners, designers, contractors, and builders who expect a higher level of guidance, product knowledge, and support. We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Showroom Associate who is excited to learn the surfaces industry, assist customers, and help run daily showroom operations. Responsibilities Engage customers through inside and outside sales efforts, providing expert guidance on renovation, lighting, and interior design products. Negotiate sales terms effectively while upselling complementary products such as installation materials, or services. Manage customer accounts by maintaining strong relationships through personalized service and follow-up communication. Handle POS transactions accurately, including cash handling and retail math calculations for pricing and discounts. Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store maintains an inviting atmosphere. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Promote ongoing marketing initiatives to attract new clients while maintaining existing customer relationships through organized outreach efforts. Greet customers and provide knowledgeable assistance with stone, tile, wood flooring, and installation materials Learn and understand material types, finishes, applications, installation basics, and care/maintenance Answer phones, respond to emails, schedule appointments Prepare customer quotes and process orders Place purchase orders with distributors and track lead times Open and close the showroom (keyholder responsibilities) Support the owners with day-to-day tasks as needed Light lifting/moving of samples (generally 20-40 lbs) Skills Proven experience in outside sales, retail sales, or high-end sales environments with a focus on renovation or lighting products. Strong negotiation skills coupled with the ability to upsell effectively to maximize revenue opportunities. Knowledge of remodeling processes, interior design principles, material design concepts, and maintenance practices. Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse clientele. Organizational skills necessary for managing multiple accounts, merchandising tasks, and stock levels efficiently. Familiarity with online and in person POS systems, retail math calculations, cash handling procedures, and basic math skills for accurate transactions. Ability to demonstrate products confidently through demos and product presentations to enhance customer engagement. Experience with inside sales techniques including customer service excellence and account management strategies.
