Installer Level 3 Hyphn - 4.3 Portland, OR Job Details Full-time $24 - $30 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Company vehicle operation High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description Position Summary The Level 3 Installer is an experienced installation professional responsible for performing and supporting the installation of contract furniture systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications, project drawings, and company quality standards. This role serves as a senior installer and working lead, assisting the Foreman with coordinating installation crews, maintaining jobsite organization, and ensuring installations are completed safely, efficiently, and with a high level of quality. They also may lead independently a variety of projects, including large complicated and/or strategic installations. Level 3 Installers provide technical expertise in the installation of complex furniture systems and may assist with training junior installers and coordinating labor resources from partner labor companies. Can run an install with or without a Foreman. Participates in regular 1-on-1 with manager. Essential Functions & Responsibilities 1) Jobsite Leadership & Crew Management Lead and supervise installation crews on assigned projects including: Company installers Temporary labor personnel from partner labor companies Responsibilities include: Assigning tasks and directing daily work activities Ensuring crews understand project scope and installation sequence Maintaining productivity and installation efficiency Monitoring crew performance and professionalism on site Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to junior installers 2) Furniture Installation Install contract furniture systems including but not limited to: Panel systems and desking systems Case goods and freestanding furniture Architectural walls and modular components Seating and accessories Storage systems and filing components Interpret and follow: Installation drawings Manufacturer specifications (including Steelcase systems) Project plans and layouts Verify materials delivered to the jobsite match project requirements/delivery tickets Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and functionality of installed furniture. 3) Jobsite Support & Coordination Assist the Foreman in coordinating daily installation or be the primary coordinator of activities including: Sequencing installation tasks Communicating scope and direction to installation crews Supporting labor company personnel assigned to the project Ensuring materials are staged and organized for efficient installation Daily communication about project status, schedule adherence, changes of scope, problems, and customer satisfaction utilizing daily logs/FOP. Serve as a point of contact on site when the Foreman is managing other tasks. May also be the primary point of contact when running a job without a Foreman. 4) Quality Control Maintain high installation standards by: Reviewing layouts and installation drawings prior to work Ensuring furniture is installed per manufacturer requirements Identifying and correcting installation issues Reporting product shortages, damages, or discrepancies Punch list completion and project closeout activities when Foreman not assigned as lead. 5) Safety & Jobsite Compliance Follow company safety policies and jobsite safety requirements including: Proper use of PPE Safe material handling practices Maintaining clean and organized work areas Adhering to client and general contractor safety rules Assist in maintaining a safe work environment for all installers. 6) Training & Mentorship Support the development of junior installers by: Demonstrating proper installation techniques Providing guidance on manufacturer systems Assisting with onboarding of new installers or labor company personnel Promoting efficient and professional work practices Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Strong knowledge of contract furniture installation practices Ability to read and interpret installation drawings and floor plans Experience installing Steelcase or comparable manufacturer systems Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities Ability to work independently while supporting team coordination Strong communication and teamwork skills High attention to detail and commitment to quality Education / Experience Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience 3 - 5+ years of commercial furniture installation experience Experience with panel systems and modular furniture preferred Experience leading crews or acting as a working lead preferred Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work performed primarily on commercial jobsites Frequent lifting of furniture components (up to 75 lbs with assistance) Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with tools for extended periods Use of installation tools and equipment required Travel to jobsites within the service region required Some early mornings, extended hours, or weekend work based on project schedules Must have a valid driver's license, maintain a clean driving record, and meet all eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle throughout employment
