Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a Lead Installer that is responsible for overseeing and managing all crew and processes on furniture installation projects. They are responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely installation of commercial furnishings in compliance with the manufacturer's specifications, quality and service standards, meeting the customer needs, and according to management directives. They are also responsible for providing accurate project punch list reporting and completed work orders in an efficient and timely manner. Duties Understand loading, transport, unloading, staging, unpacking, assembly, and movement of furniture. Understand and follow instructions on Work Orders. Act as the primary point of contact for customer communications regarding project progress and updates. Demonstrate proficiency in reading, comprehending, and interpreting installation documents, product tags, layouts, drawings, field measurements, diagrams, product specifications, and Bill Of Materials. Lead, manage, and direct a crew of installers along with being a resource for all crew assigned to projects, and managing crews effectively to keep installation projects within budgets. Be accessible to review and discuss projects and plans before, during, and after project completion. Responsible for completing all documentation of installation projects including Punch List reports returned in a timely manner. Oversee the use of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively while ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Have a thorough understanding of multiple furnishings brands and the correct methods for their assembly and installation. Measure, square, align, and adjust structural components to ensure furniture is installed per specifications. Communicate effectively with Managers, Project Coordinators, Installers, Subcontractors, Clients and other Lead Installers. Train and mentor installation team members. Assume all other duties assigned by management. Qualifications Previous experience in furniture installation with multiple brands, including Kimball, HON, Allsteel, Steelcase, Herman Miller, Knoll and Haworth products. Basic knowledge of furniture electrical systems. Strong leadership skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Attention to detail. Proficient in utilizing technology, including iPads, with a strong understanding of their functionalities. Must own and utilize your own tools for typical furniture installations. Must be proficient in using hand and power tools. Physical Demand Work both indoors and outdoors, depending on installation requirements. The work environment can be physically demanding, requiring installers to lift heavy objects up to 100 pounds, bend, stoop, kneel, and walk upstairs. Must be able to use fingers and hands to handle, feel, and reach with arms. Must be able to see color, have depth perception and the ability to focus. Tolerate moderate noise levels. Available to work Monday through Friday and have the availability to work after hours and weekends.
