Metal Finishing Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to support production operations in an industrial manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for grinding, smoothing, and finishing metal parts to meet quality and specification standards. The candidate will play a critical role in maintaining product quality and production efficiency while following all safety guidelines. Responsibilities Interpret blueprints to determine the specifications for metal finishing. Set up and operate grinding equipment to ensure proper surface finishes. Inspect parts for accuracy using calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Ensure precise tolerances and maintain product quality. Follow all safety guidelines and adhere to PPE requirements. Maintain production efficiency by consistently performing tasks accurately. Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Essential Skills Experience operating grinding equipment to smooth, shape, and finish metal parts to specification. Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders accurately. Use of calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure precise tolerances. Skilled in safely operating grinders (surface, cylindrical, or handheld) and related equipment. Strong focus on precision, surface quality, and defect detection. Understanding of metal types and how they respond to grinding and finishing processes. Adherence to PPE requirements and safe machine operation procedures. Ability to stand for long periods and handle repetitive tasks in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications 1+ year of grinding, machining, or metal fabrication experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers). Attention to detail and quality control mindset. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks. Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled industrial environment. Basic math and mechanical aptitude. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Why Work Here?
