Must have good eye/hand coordination, good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to stay focused and sit for long periods of time. Must also be capable of wearing a respirator while using hand finish tools.

Basic Job Description:

Blend and or remove excess weld from parts using a hand grinder, carbide cutter, grinding stones and sand paper. Hand grind contours on aerospace impellers and turbine wheels to rough size and debur sharp edges according to repair router and sketch sheets. Work with other operators in the machine shop to improve the process and reduce turn times. Self inspect work using calipers, micrometers, radius and thickness gauges. Experience with and ability to operate efficiently the following hand tools: Belt Sander Straight Die Grinders Right Angle Sander Hand Grinders Bench Grinders High Speed Turbine Grinders Wage range depends on experience.
