Sheeter Assistant Smurfit Westrock - 3.1 Indianapolis, IN Job Details Full-time 10 hours ago Qualifications Shop math High school diploma or GED Dimensional measurements Full Job Description The Sheeter Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the Sheeter to cut paperboard to correct size, and with the grain going the correct way for an offset printing operation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
: Sets machine with paper guides for the correct size of paper to be sheeted; sets decurler as appropriate, verify caliper is correct. Runs test sheets; examines test sheets to detect defects and verifies conformance to work orders adjusting machinery as necessary to correct production problems. Observes operation of machine to detect and correct machine malfunctions such as blade or belt adjustments. Signs off on all checks in VWT; performs quality checks and ensures job accuracy. Troubleshoot the sheeter, escalating to technical support as necessary. Monitors the schedule, logs job codes in Radius, and coordinates material needs to the Assistant Sheeter Operator. Will be responsible for other duties as assigned by Sheeting Manager. Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, security procedures and instructions. Performs all duties according to established safety policy, including wearing all required PPE to perform duties. Performs other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D. 1-year work-related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training, or equivalent combination of education experience required. Must possess adequate mathematical ability, including a strong understanding of measurements. Must possess strong problem-solving skills. Knowledge and use of micrometer and tape measure. Forklift experience preferred. Strong computer literacy preferred. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work with little supervision. Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
