Thermoplastic Striping Operator

Overview We are seeking a reliable and safety‑focused Thermoplastic Striping Operator to operate a ThermoLazer walk‑behind thermoplastic striping machine . This role is responsible for applying high‑quality thermoplastic pavement markings on parking lots, roadways, crosswalks, bike paths, and other paved surfaces. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with thermoplastic striping equipment , understands heat‑based material application , and can produce clean, accurate, and durable pavement markings while following safety standards and job specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Operation Operate the ThermoLazer to apply thermoplastic pavement markings Heat, melt, and maintain thermoplastic material at proper operating temperatures Install, adjust, and operate FlexDie screed boxes to achieve correct line width and thickness Control material flow, walking speed, and bead application for consistent line quality Apply reflective glass beads evenly to meet project specifications Jobsite Execution Follow layout markings, chalk lines, and pointers to ensure straight, accurate striping Apply markings according to drawings, work orders, and local/DOT specifications Perform clean starts and stops, intersections, arrows, symbols, and stencils as required Monitor surface conditions to ensure proper adhesion and performance Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety policies and jobsite safety requirements Operate propane‑fueled heating systems safely and responsibly Wear required PPE including gloves, eye protection, and heat‑resistant gear Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues Equipment Care & Maintenance (Operator Level) Perform daily pre‑operation checks on equipment and propane systems Keep the kettle, die, bead hopper, and work area clean during and after operation Assist with basic hot cleanup and end‑of‑day shutdown procedures Report mechanical issues or maintenance needs to supervisors QualificationsRequired Experience operating thermoplastic striping equipment (Graco ThermoLazer preferred) Knowledge of thermoplastic material handling and application Ability to work around high temperatures, open flame, and molten materials Physically able to walk, push equipment, lift materials, and work outdoors Strong attention to detail and quality Ability to follow instructions and job specifications

Pay:

$15.00 - $25.00 per hour
