Grinder Operator (Foundry / Metal Finishing) The Advance Group has partnered with a leading manufacturing company in Westland, MI to hire 2 Grinder Operators for a hands-on metal casting and foundry production environment. You will be responsible for finishing and inspecting metal castings to ensure they meet customer and engineering specifications. This is a strong opportunity for individuals who are detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a physically demanding industrial environment. Job Responsibilities - Grinder Operator As a Grinder Operator, you will: Grind and finish castings to customer and engineering specifications. Operate hand tools and equipment including hand drills, air hammers, and bandsaws. Inspect finished parts and verify dimensions meet quality standards. Safely handle and move castings and materials throughout the production process. Identify and report quality concerns, equipment issues, and safety hazards. Follow all company safety policies and PPE requirements. Required Skills & Experience To be successful in this Grinder Operator role, you should have: Ability to safely operate hand and power tools Strong attention to detail and quality standards Experience in manufacturing, foundry, or metal finishing preferred Ability to perform physically demanding work Ability to stand and walk for long periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly Comfort working in an industrial production environment Work Environment This is a foundry and metal casting production facility, which includes: Fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment Exposure to heat, noise, and metal fabrication processes Strong emphasis on safety and PPE compliance Team-based production work Schedule Monday-Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Voluntary overtime available on Saturdays Pay & Growth Opportunity Starting pay: $15.50/hr Increase to $16.00/hr upon hire-in Temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term placement potential Apply Today The Advance Group has partnered with a manufacturing employer in Westland, MI to offer this Grinder Operator opportunity for candidates seeking stable work in metal casting, foundry production, and industrial manufacturing.
