Technical Proficiency Full Job Description SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for deburring and polishing machined parts. Inspects products and reports defects; demonstrating safe work practices at all times and to identify areas of potential concern to management; participating in team activities, providing ideas to support continuous improvement activities within their work team or cell.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Measures and examines, completed parts, detect defects, and ensures conformance to specifications using precision instruments. Works directly with supervisor. Follows documented instructions. Maintains knowledge of hand tools and measuring instruments. Reads and interprets manufacturing drawings. Operates and maintains detail and cleaning equipment. Ability to work overtime. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. High attention to detail. At least 3 - 5 years of experience finishing production parts. Experience detailing production parts. Ability to use hand and power tools. Comprehension of metal surface finishes. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Familiarity with sensing systems technologies and aerospace product specs. Ability to learn and apply advanced technical concepts. Able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork. Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed. Self motivated and able to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision. Possess basic computer skills including database software and electronic mail software. Must have 20/20 vision with correction, and no color blindness, steady hands with good dexterity. (Company issued annual eye exam.)
