Job Description
Job Overview Cammel Saw is looking for a dependable, hands-on shop employee to help clean, inspect, and repair saw blades and cutting tools. This role supports our sharpening and repair process by preparing blades for service and helping work move through the shop. This is a good fit for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in doing things correctly, and wants to learn a skilled trade in a small shop environment. Teamwork, a positive attitude, and willingness to help where needed are important parts of this role. Saw blade experience is not required. Training will be provided for the right person. Responsibilities Clean saw blades and tooling using company-approved procedures. Help prepare blades for sharpening, grinding, or repair. Learn how to identify common blade issues such as buildup, missing tips, or damage. Assist with saw blade repair and carbide tip work after training. Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe. Follow instructions, ask questions when needed, and work well with the shop team. Helpful Experience The right candidate does not need prior saw blade experience, but experience with any of the following would be helpful: Brazing, soldering, welding, torch work, or controlled heat work. Working with small parts, metal, carbide, tooling, or precision repair. Mechanical, shop, manufacturing, automotive, fabrication, or hands-on repair work. Using hand tools, grinders, torches, fixtures, or shop equipment. Detail-oriented work that requires patience, steady hands, and accuracy. Qualifications Dependable attendance and punctuality. Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team. Strong attention to detail. Ability to follow instructions and shop procedures. Comfortable working with hand tools, shop equipment, sharp tooling, and cleaning materials. Willingness to learn a skilled shop process. Comfortable learning precision repair work involving small parts, sharp tooling, heat, and shop equipment. Welding, brazing, soldering, torch, fabrication, or mechanical repair experience is helpful but not required. Prior shop, manufacturing, mechanical, or hands-on work experience is helpful but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, bend, reach, and handle sharp tooling safely. Ability to work in a shop environment with machines, noise, cleaning materials, and moving work.
