Set up and operate ID, OD, and surface grinding machines Grind components to precise dimensional and surface finish requirements Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions Select and install grinding wheels, tooling, fixtures, and work-holding devices Perform machine adjustments to maintain product quality and process efficiency Complete in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment Verify compliance with blueprint dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T requirements Troubleshoot machining and quality issues Maintain production, inspection, and quality documentation Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to support production goals Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area Other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 3+ years of experience operating ID/OD and/or Surface Grinding equipment Experience machining tight-tolerance precision components Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T Strong understanding of grinding processes and machining fundamentals Proficient with precision measuring tools including: Micrometers, Calipers, Bore gauges, Indicators, Height gauges Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Preferred Qualifications Aerospace manufacturing experience Experience with cylindrical grinders, centerless grinders, or CNC grinding equipment Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards Ability to perform complex machine setups independently Experience manufacturing aerospace, defense, medical, or other precision-machined components Skills That Will Help You Succeed Precision Grinding ID Grinding OD Grinding Surface Grinding Cylindrical Grinding Blueprint Reading GD&T Interpretation Mechanical Aptitude Quality Inspection Precision Measurement Problem Solving Troubleshooting Safety Awareness Continuous Improvement Team Collaboration Dependability and Reliability ITAR Requirements DRT Aerospace supports customers in the aerospace and defense industries and complies with all applicable U.S. export control regulations.
