CNC Studer Grinder Operator/ Programmer Begin Right Employment Services - 3.9 Portland, OR Job Details Full-time $28 - $31 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Qualifications Machining Blueprint reading Manufacturing CNC CNC machining Full Job Description We are seeking a skilled CNC Studer Grinder Operator/Programmer to set up, program, operate, and maintain CNC cylindrical grinding equipment in a high-precision manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing complex components to tight tolerances, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and continuously improving grinding processes to maximize efficiency and precision. Experience with manual OD/ID grinding is a plus!
Shift :
swing shift Pay range : $28-31/hr DOE plus $3 dollar shift differential Job Duties Set up and operate CNC Studer cylindrical grinding machines, including OD, thread, and face grinding applications. Create, edit, and optimize CNC grinding programs using Studer software and machine controls. Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, process sheets, and customer specifications. Select and qualify grinding wheels, dressing tools, workholding fixtures, and cutting parameters. Perform first-piece inspections and make program or process adjustments as necessary. Maintain dimensional tolerances as tight as ±0.0001" (2.5 microns) when required. Monitor machine performance and ensure process stability throughout production runs. Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment. Troubleshoot machining, programming, wheel wear, thermal growth, and surface finish issues. Perform wheel balancing, dressing, and wheel condition monitoring. Document inspection results and maintain accurate production records. Continuously seek to improve processes and reduce cycle times. Perform preventive maintenance and maintain equipment in accordance with company standards. Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements. Qualifications Follow directions/instructions step-by-step.
