In this role, you will apply spray coatings to medical implants prior to sintering heat treatment, strictly adhering to established protocols to satisfy engineering and customer standards. Responsibilities include hand-coating components via the spatulation technique, evaluating finished parts for quality compliance, and assisting with additional tasks as assigned by the department Lead. Core Responsibilities Gain proficiency in interpreting Job Travelers to confirm part identification, volume, and specific coating criteria like binder and bead mesh dimensions. Master the preparation of binder solutions by strictly following the steps outlined in Standard Process Instructions (SPIs). Help maintain high quality standards by visually examining parts to ensure they align with customer expectations. Study and apply all SPIs and Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPIs) related to the porous coating of medical devices. Verify that all prior operations are signed off and confirm part totals before starting production to ensure workflow accuracy and notify your Team Leader of any inconsistencies. Conduct essential equipment maintenance checks before starting tasks to help ensure a smooth and safe production process. Confirm that all measuring tools are properly calibrated and in good working order before use. Adhere to established procedures to ensure product traceability and documentation integrity, reporting any concerns to your supervisor immediately. Consult relevant technical drawings and manufacturing instructions before initiating any production work. Consistently follow all departmental Standard Process Instructions. Required Qualifications Previous professional work experience is necessary. Capacity to comprehend and execute both verbal and written directions. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Experience or willingness to learn how to operate precision measuring tools such as balances and calipers. Previous tenure as a Level I Spray Coater is a prerequisite for advancing to Level II. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings related to porous part coating. Experience or aptitude for training on comparators for overlay part inspections.
