Description CNC Cylindrical Grinder / Thread Grinder - Precision Machine Shop Summary We are a precision CNC machine shop seeking a reliable and detail-oriented CNC Cylindrical Grinder / Thread Grinder to support our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience operating precision grinding equipment and working from engineering drawings in a manufacturing environment. This role involves setting up and operating CNC cylindrical grinding and thread grinding equipment to produce precision machined components that meet customer specifications and quality requirements. The grinder will work closely with production and quality departments to ensure dimensional accuracy, surface finish requirements, and overall product quality. We are a shop that values precision, attention to detail, and craftsmanship, and we are looking for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work. Grinding operations play a critical role in achieving the tight tolerances and finishes required throughout our manufacturing processes. All applicants with varying levels of experience will be considered. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC cylindrical grinding and thread grinding equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and work instructions
- Inspect components using micrometers, thread measuring equipment, indicators, and other precision measuring instruments
- Produce parts to specified dimensional, geometric, and surface finish requirements
- Perform wheel changes, wheel dressing, and routine machine adjustments
- Monitor grinding operations and make necessary offsets or corrections
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records
- Communicate with supervisors, machinists, and quality personnel regarding production or quality concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Qualifications
- Experience operating CNC machine tools in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances
- Experience using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, indicators, and thread measuring equipment
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Good written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating CNC machine tools; grinding experience is preferred but not required. Training may be provided for candidates with strong machining fundamentals.
- Experience grinding tight-tolerance machined components
- Familiarity with thread forms, thread measurement techniques, and thread inspection equipment
- Experience with wheel selection, dressing, and grinding process optimization
