Job Description Position Summary:

Under direct supervision, level one operators perform basic grinding operations including machine attending and basic inspection for Revert.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Obtain job assignments from lead, supervisor or manager. Work safely in accordance to plant safety guidelines including cardinal rules of safety. Adheres to quality processes including in-process inspections to ensure compliance with quality specifications. Load and unload material. Perform daily inspection of equipment such as grinders, forklift, overhead cranes, etc. Complete production reports accurately and timely. Perform transactions in Quality Management System as applicable. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition. Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as required. Perform other duties as requested by lead, supervisor or manager.

Required Skills:

Basic ability to read and interpret process sheets. Basic use and interpretation of measuring equipment Basic understanding of shop mathematics Basic understanding of grinding functions Ability to communicate effectively to team members, lead, supervisor, manager and others. Ability to be certified to operate forklift and overhead crane. Ability to wear a respirator Experience & Education High school diploma or GED 0 to 1 year of manufacturing experience; prior military experience; or technical certification / degree required

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours. Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing and pulling of materials. Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level. Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery. Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment. Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.
