Summary

Seeking a Surface Operator that has the ability and knowledge to grind carbide preforms of all shapes and sizes. This individual will have had experience in setup, and operation of surface grinding equipment including basic Knowledge in CNC Surface Grinding. In addition, this individual will be supportive incorporating current and future products into a CNC grinding process. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities:

Maintain a safe working environment per OSHA standards throughout the plant and assist in implementing any required updated safety regulations.

Be able to learn new equipment quickly based on a foundational understanding of CNC and grinding. Responsible for performing, set-up and identifying appropriate fixtures and required wheels to produce parts.

In the event of critical absences this individual will be able to step into a production lead position and get a process running effectively, followed by a successful handoff to operator personal.

Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Provide team support and communication to all co-workers.
  • Assist in implementation of Continuous Improvement Programs.
  • Coordinates with Plant/Operations Manager for up to date scheduling changes.
  • Coordinates with Engineering for timely turn around regarding fixturing and any required support.
  • Notifies Plant/Operations Manager of potential problems which could affect customer deliveries.
  • Maintain 6S and Lean Manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain and manager fixture and wheel inventories to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Collaborate with quality control when required. Qualifications

Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Education and/or Work Experience Minimum of 5 years of complex carbide grinding.

Manufacturing or process related background.

Must have experience in grinding carbide.

Ability to develop and meet project schedules. Technical Skills/Physical Requirements Worked with engineering for part production. Minimum High School Education with some secondary education a plus

Good understanding of drafting and geometric dimensional tolerancing. (GD&T)

Good mechanical aptitude.

Organization skills, including the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
