Description Summary:

Set up and operate a variety of OD/ID hones such as brush hones, shaker hones, sunnen and manual hand landing hones for the production of machined carbide and ceramic cutting tips to precision tolerances.

Duties & Responsbilities:

Read and interpret router, blueprints, planning sheets, sketches and related technical data to determine requirements, fixture set-up procedures, control setting and machining methods and sequences.

Calculate and set machine controls to position brush head in relationship to work piece.

Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments and work piece.

Select and install abrasive brush wheel on spindle.

Dress wheel as required.

Start machine and monitor display and operation to detect malfunctions.

Make adjustements to machine controls.

Verify dimensions of finished work piece for conformance to specifications using the appropriate measuring devices.

Other duties as assigned.

Comply with all Safety, quality, work rules and regulations.
