50 / per hour Full time Apply Now Back Job Description # Die Cast Machine Operator ## Position Summary The Die Cast Machine Operator operates manual, semi-automatic, and automatic die casting equipment used to manufacture a variety of parts. This position is also responsible for removing, installing, setting up, and operating die cast dies. The operator works closely with machine operators, leads, supervisors, Quality Control personnel, Maintenance, and Tool Crib Attendants. ## Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Machine Operation
• 70%•Operate semi-automatic and automatic die casting machines according to approved procedures.

• Start and shut down machines.
• Adjust sprue-fault settings and start robotic equipment.
• Monitor equipment during operation and respond promptly to production issues.
• Quality Control
• 10%•Perform required hourly quality inspections.

• Accurately complete Statistical Process Control (SPC) documentation.
• Machine Setup
• 5%•Perform setups on semi-automatic and automatic die casting machines.

• Remove and install die cast dies as required.
• Repairs and Maintenance
• 5%•Perform authorized repairs and routine maintenance on die casting equipment.

• Repair water leaks, replace cutters, and change nozzles.
• Complete repairs only with authorization from the department supervisor or lead.
• Component Changes
• 5%•Change rings, pistons, goosenecks, and dies while working around molten metal at temperatures of approximately 800°F.

• Housekeeping
• 5%•Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

## Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of related machine-operation experience preferred.
• Previous die casting or manufacturing experience is a plus. ## Required Skills and Qualifications
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively.
• Basic understanding of hydraulic systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Ability to follow operating procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Ability to identify equipment problems and help implement practical solutions. ## Workplace Competencies

## Work Environment This position works in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, vibration, heat, and loud noise. The employee may occasionally be exposed to chemicals, electrical hazards, and other conditions common to an industrial manufacturing environment. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn as required. ## Physical Requirements While performing this job, the employee must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently use their hands to handle tools, equipment, and materials.
• Reach with their hands and arms.
• Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally sit.
• Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Communicate effectively in a loud manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrate the close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision necessary to perform the job safely, including the ability to adjust visual focus.
