Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking Waterjet & Plasma Operators to join our manufacturing team on 2nd shift. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC waterjet cutting systems and plasma cutting tables to fabricate high-quality precision parts. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, can read blueprints accurately, and maintains a sharp focus on safety and quality control.
Key Responsibilities Machine Operation:
Set up and operate CNC waterjet and precision plasma cutting machines to cut various materials according to production schedules.
Setup & Calibration:
Load materials onto the cutting beds using overhead cranes, forklifts, or manual lifting techniques. Select correct nozzles, abrasives, gases, and cutting speeds based on material type and thickness.
G-Code & Programming:
Nest parts efficiently to maximize material yield and minimize waste. Call up existing CNC programs or make minor edits to software/G-code at the console as needed.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges to ensure compliance with blueprints and technical drawings. Deburr and clean parts post-cut.
Maintenance:
Perform routine daily maintenance on equipment (e.g., changing consumables, cleaning slats, monitoring abrasive/garnet levels, and emptying catching tanks).
Safety & Organization:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace. Adhere to all OSHA and company safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience operating CNC waterjet or plasma cutting tables
Technical Skills:
Ability to read and interpret fabrication blueprints, welding symbols, and mechanical drawings.
Mathematical Aptitude:
Strong basic math skills, including fractional-to-decimal conversions and precise layout measurements.
Material Handling:
Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts preferred (certification is a plus).
Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently, stand for extended periods, and work in a fabrication shop environment.

$28.00 - $33.00 per hour
