Refers to parts prints, parts list, templates, work order, etc. for dimensions and finish information, using a variety of tools.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Reasonable Accommodations Statement Performs such typical finishing operations as breaking edges and finishing threads, chamfering and blending surfaces to facilitate the completion of machined parts per engineering requirements. Refers to parts prints, parts list, templates, work orders, etc. for dimensions and finish information. Uses a variety of hand tools, bench grinders, and disc and belt sanders to remove flashings, burrs, and surface irregularities prior to or following machine operations. Verifies part count, and packages finished parts as required. Duties & Responsibilities Setup hand tools, work bench, and other support tooling in a safe manner that protects the operator and the finished surface and dimensional integrity of the machined part Properly dispose of metallic scrap material, keep work area clean and orderly, and return tools to their assigned locations on completion of assignments Review daily work orders, obtain clarification from lead or supervisor as needed, and enter operator initials, signatures, and completions as required Inform work area leads of progress, completion, and readiness for new assignments Seek appropriate training on new machines and toolsREQUIRED SKILLS
Familiar with hand-held tools such as dye grinders and pencil grinders Able to operate a drill press Blueprint reading, basic shop math, General Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Good manual dexterity with ability to maintain close tolerances Ability to professionally communicate and work with others Good attention to detail Competency Statement(s)- Demonstrated success in all functional areas within a fast-paced, technically focused manufacturing environment is essential
- Must be results-oriented and demonstrate strategic thinking, innovation, flexibility in dealing with changing and ambiguous situations
